How long does it take to design a web site?
At WebExpress we develop both bespoke (unique) and template (pre-designed) websites.
Below is a guideline on the web design lead times. Please note we will provide a more accurate expected delivery time on order.
If you are ordering a bespoke design we are more than happy to accomodate changes that you might need to your original web design proposal. Obviously, the more changes you require the longer the project will take. In light of this, the design times indicated below may vary slightly:
- Personal Web Design Package - 2 to 6 weeks from order
- Business Web Design Package - 3 to 7 weeks from order
- ecommerce Web Design Package - 3 to 12 weeks from order
- Bespoke Web Design Package - 3 weeks plus from order
There are occasions when a client will require urgent work. In these instances we will do our very best to accomodate your needs.
How do I pay for my website?
Depending which option you take, payment is either done in 2 instalments (50% on order and the balance when the web design work is completed). Clients with a web package agreement or SEO agreement can pay by monthly standing order.
You can pay for your web design work, hosting and SEO in a number of ways:
1. By far the most convenient payment method is online via Paypal. We accept all major credit cards and you can pay instantly and securely online.
2. We will send you an invoice and you can choose to pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer (please call us for our bank details).
What material do you need from me and how do I get it to you?
To speed up the process of designing your website you can send us text and images that you would like to use for your website. You can send this to us in a number of ways:1. Type your text in an email and send it to info@webexpress-uk.com
2. Type your text in a Microsoft Word document and send it as an attachment to your email
3. Type your text in a Microsoft Word document, print it off and post it to: WebExpress UK, 2 Llain Fain, Llanaelhaearn, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL54 5AZ
4. Some of our customers write or draw what they want on a piece of paper and post it to us. That's fine too...provided we can read your handwriting!
5. If you've got some photos to send us, if the lot is not bigger than about 5Mb email them to info@webexpress-uk.com
6. If your photo files are too big to email, try burning them onto a CD and posting them to us at the address above
7. If you haven't got any appropriate photos, we recommend you visit the Big Stock Photo website. This is a large collection of quality, royalty free photos that we can use for your web design. If you visit the site, type in a keyword in the search box, browse through the photos and make a note of the photo IDs that you like. Just email us these IDs and we will purchase the images, download them and use them in your design.
When will my website appear on major search engines?
Once we design your web site and place it as a link into one of our search engine friendly web sites it takes 3 to 6 weeks for your web site to be picked up and listed on the search engines. This does not mean that your web site will be listed on top of search engines for any particular keywords. To achieve this you will require our professional search engine optimisation service. If you require this additional service please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
Who owns my web design and what are the ongoing charges?
Unlike many web design companies, we offer 2 variations of web design. Bespoke and template customisation.With our monthly fee packages you should think of them like a rental service. You tell us what kind of website you want, we design it for you and if you're happy, we put it online and you rent it off us. Should you terminate your contract with us for whatever reason, we will remove your website from the internet. Remember, should you wish to purchase the website at any time you can do this for a nominal fee depending on how long you have been subscribing.
With our bespoke designs, once you have paid for your web design and it's online, the web site is yours. We do not own it or have any design or commercial rights to it, it's yours to keep. We can supply the files for you to host yourselves or we can host them for you for free for 12 months (£6.95 per month thereafter)
